We are happy to welcome one new physician in mid-October and eight new physicians to Team SEAMO in November 2024.

Dr. Danielle Wuebbolt joined the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in mid-October. Most recently with the University of Ottawa, she completed her medical degree at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Dr. Wuebbolt has researched Hematology, Obstetrics, and Neurology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto, with a special focus on rare medical disorders in pregnancy. Her diverse research background and dedication to advancing maternal health will be a valued addition to the department.

Dr. Gaya Balasubramaniam joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Neurology. Practising in Kingston, Dr. Balasubramaniam brings expertise in diagnosing and managing neurological conditions such as stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, vertigo, headaches, and head injuries. Skilled in procedures including EMG and EEG, she is dedicated to the comprehensive care of patients with complex nervous system disorders. 

Dr. Lubhin Bhagat joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine. Recently completing her family medicine residency with the Family Medicine Residency Program at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine, she brings a strong foundation in primary care. Dr. Bhagat holds a medical degree from Saint James School of Medicine, Anguilla, and a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Human Biology and French from the University of Toronto. Her clinical and research interests focus on primary care for underserved populations, especially women’s, neonatal, and mental health. 

Dr. Danilo de Jesus joins the Department of Psychiatry. Originally from Brazil, Dr. de Jesus completed his medical training at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte, followed by a residency in Psychiatry at Grupo Hospitalar Conceicao in Porto Alegre. He later earned a Master’s degree in Schizophrenia research at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, where he worked with Dr. Paulo Belmonte de Abreu. After fellowship training at the University of Toronto under Drs. Jeff Daskalakis and Alexander Simpson, he served as an Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at U of T and a staff psychiatrist in the Mood and Anxiety Division at CAMH. Dr. de Jesus brings a wealth of expertise in mood disorders and a commitment to advancing mental health care. 

Dr. Erin McCarthy joins the Department of Medicine in the Division of Palliative Care. Dr. McCarthy completed her undergraduate medical training at Memorial University of Newfoundland before pursuing residency training in Family Medicine and Palliative Medicine at Queen’s University. With a strong commitment to providing compassionate care, she brings valuable expertise in managing complex symptoms and supporting patients and families through end-of-life care. 

Dr. Christopher Pasarikovski joins the Department of Surgery in the Division of Neurosurgery. He began his medical studies at the University of Western Ontario, building on his background with a degree in physics and a master’s in economics. His interest in neurosurgery was ignited during his second year of medical school when he received an Epilepsy Summer Student Award. Outside of medicine, Dr. Pasarikovski is an avid soccer player and enjoys travelling. 

Dr. Evelina Tijunelyte joins the Department of Pediatrics. Originally from Lithuania, Dr. Tijunelyte relocated to Kingston from Alberta, where she completed her medical training at the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in 2019. Certified in Pediatrics by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, she brings a passion for child health along with her interests in hiking, painting, baking, and caring for her kitten. 

Dr. Kaitlyn Vanderbeck joins the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine. Previously an Assistant Professor at the University of Toronto, Dr. Vanderbeck also served as a full-time Dermatopathologist and Pathologist at Trillium Health Partners. She completed a fellowship in Dermatopathology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston following her residency in Anatomical Pathology at Queen’s University. Board-certified in both Anatomical Pathology and Dermatopathology by the American Board of Pathology, Dr. Vanderbeck brings extensive expertise in diagnostic pathology and a commitment to advancing patient care in dermatopathology. 

Dr. Allison Wright joins the Department of Family Medicine, bringing a special focus in hospital medicine and general practitioner oncology. Originally from Kingston, Dr. Wright completed her medical degree at the University of Calgary. Her commitment to family medicine stems from her belief in its critical role as the foundation of Ontario's healthcare system. She values the close connections family doctors build with their communities, allowing them to provide comprehensive care across all life stages while advocating for community health needs and system improvements.
