As a SEAMO-funded Clinician Scientist, Dr. Susan Bartels spends 40 per cent of her time in clinical emergency medicine practice at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and 60 per cent of her time on research, specifically in the realm of global health.

As a SEAMO-funded physician in the New Clinician Scientist Program, 70 per cent of Dr. Steven Brooks’ time is protected research time.

Dr. Naji Touma is an associate professor in the Department of Urology at Queen’s University. His research and teaching focus is on medical education, and he has been the successful recipient of SEAMO’s Medical Education Development Program funding in the past year.

She is a clinician scientist in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and a specialist in maternal fetal medicine, meaning she cares for pregnancies that are complicated by maternal or fetal health concerns.

Cross-appointed to the Department of Critical Care Medicine and the Division of Neurology in the Department of Medicine, Dr. Gord Boyd describes the importance of taking care of ICU patients at all stages of their recovery.
